Description: Google Analytics is a free activity tracking and reporting service that is simple to integrate into your website. We recommend that you add a Google Analytics pixel to your website so that you can keep track of how much traffic your website receives, which pages are popular, and how well your website is performing overall.
- Navigate to google.com/analytics
- Click Start For Free in the upper righthand corner
- Select the google account you want to use to manage google analytics for your domain
- Click Get Started to set up your first reporting system
- If you have google analytics set up for one of your websites already, you can add another by clicking on Admin in the lower left-hand corner and clicking Create Account
- Fill in your account name
- This can be your business name, website name, or whatever will help you determine which website this analytic setup is for
- Leave the recommended account data settings as is, or review each to make sure they suit your needs
- Scroll down and click Next
- Paste your website URL in the property name field
- Select the appropriate time zone
- Click Show Advanced Options
- Toggle to over the lever to Create a Universal Analytics Property
- Paste your website URL into the website field
- Then select the option for creating a Universal Analytics Property only
- Click Next
- Select the appropriate options for your company size and use
- Click Create
- Accept the terms and conditions by checking the box and clicking I Accept
- Copy your new Google Site Tag and send it to our team via your hacker portal
- Log into your website
- Navigate to your Hacker Portal
- Click Message Hacker Genie
- Paste the code and request that the tag is added to your website
- Click Submit
- Once your tag is added, conduct a test to make sure it is working properly by opening your google analytics page and navigating to the website via an incognito window
- You should see 1 active user
- After 24 hours you will start seeing actual data being tracked by the software
